Alcohol appears to be a factor in Point Place motorcycle, golf cart collision, police claim

Police responded to an intersection in Point Place Thursday evening after two vehicles collided, resulting in two hospitalizations.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two people were transported to the hospital Thursday after a golf cart collided with a motorcycle in Point Place.

According to a Toledo police report, a 64-year-old man was driving a golf cart northbound on N. Summit Street at approximately 6:44 p.m. A 62-year-old woman was a passenger in the golf cart. 

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man was operating a motorcycle, traveling southbound on Summit Street approaching 110th Street. The driver of the golf cart attempted to make a left turn onto 110th Street before the two vehicles collided, police claimed. 

Crews responded to the scene and transported the drivers of the golf cart and motorcycle to the hospital. Police did not specify their conditions or the extent of their injuries. The passenger of the golf cart was released on the scene. 

Police claimed alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision.
