City of Detroit says fewer than 10% of DDOT buses operating

Public transportation has been blamed for community spread in the city of Detroit.

DETROIT — The city of Detroit said in a tweet Tuesday that due to a driver shortage, less than 10% of the Detroit Department of Transportation buses are operating.

"We are asking passengers to seek other forms of transportation while we work to address our driver's concerns," the city said. "We apologize for any inconvenience."

Michigan currently has 45 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
