WATERVILLE, OH (WTOL) - While the St. Jude dream home was a giveaway, there was a lot more giving than anticipated.

Winners Dianne and Dave Jaeger from Oregon, Ohio donated back the home to St. Jude's.

Their donation will fund an entire treatment plan for one child battling cancer.

Dianne and Dave were about ready to leave for dinner when something convinced them to turn on the TV and watch the live drawing for the St Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

"I just knew I didn't want to go away tonight for some reason," Dianne said.

Instead of dinner that night, they toured their new home.

However, the Jaeger's had one of their own surprises up their sleeves.

A decision they said was easy.

"We have four great, beautiful, grandchildren and we're really thankful for that and we want to help the people that need help. And we're in a position that sometimes we can," they said.

They have been donating to St. Jude for years and actually knew Danny Thomas.

They bought 30 tickets and won the home and all they wanted was a St. Jude T shirt.

However, the beautiful home was not the only big ticket item.

Judeith Williams of Fremont also won the major prize of a 2018 Ford Fiesta.

"I was just shocked and I burst into tears. I was there by myself and I thought this can't be true," she said.

But it was.

Judeith said that she always hoped she'd win the car.

"Would we really move to Toledo? I said I would rather have the car and then I can take the car home," she said.

While the car is more than worth it, she said that it was always about helping the kids of St. Jude.

"St. Jude was just a good opportunity to donate and whether I won or not that was okay," Judeith said.
