The one player Tom Brady will have to watch out for in Super Bowl 55

One player who could step up in a big way to make Tom Brady’s life difficult on Sunday is Chiefs’ rookie defensive back L’Jarius Sneed.

Super Bowl LV is headlined by two of the biggest stars in the game, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. When a star quarterback wins a Super Bowl, it’s mentioned as if he won it by himself but that’s far from the case.

Brady has six Super Bowl rings but he couldn’t have earned those without Malcolm Butler, Adam Vinatieri, or any of the countless other Patriots that stepped up in big moments. This season, for either side, it’ll be no different.

One of those players that could step up in a big way to make Brady’s life miserable on Sunday is Chiefs’ rookie defensive back L’Jarius Sneed. Diehard Chiefs fans know that Sneed started the first three games of the season, recorded two interceptions, and then missed the next seven weeks with a broken collarbone. For everyone else, L’Jarius Sneed is an under the radar player to watch this weekend that could make a massive impact.

“When you're looking from a national perspective and you don't know this team, I could definitely see why he would be that guy. He's a rookie, nominate people. He's not going to be a household name right now. He did start the season and get a lot of picks early and then he got hurt. So he doesn't really have the stats that would backup like a Pro Bowl bid,” said Chris Clark of the Locked On Chiefs Podcast.

“[The Chiefs] are just a completely different defense when he's on the field. When he's able to play he can shut down whoever he's covering. That is something that is a very valuable trait in the NFL.” Clark continued. “So I do think that that's a huge player that people need to be watching when this game goes on on Sunday. L’Jarius Sneed I think is a guy that could make plays. If he makes a pick or two in this game, and yeah, I said two because he always seems to be around the ball. It wouldn't shock me.”

Sneed has not appeared in the playoffs this season due to a concussion but has been cleared to return to play in Super Bowl LV.
