WTOL Editorial: Help out the Red Cross, please

The demands on the local Red Cross chapter increased even more with the Hunter's Ridge apartment fire. Eighty-nine families have been displaced. That means about 125 people have lost everything.

More than anything else, the Red Cross needs cash donations. Cash gives the Red Cross the flexibility to respond at a moment's notice. If you care to make a donation, go to wtol.com and click on the Big Red Box. We have provided a link that will connect you to the Red Cross.

If you prefer to give a non-cash gift, the Red Cross has a partnership with Goodwill Industries.  Just drop the item at any Goodwill location. Tell them the donation is for the Hunter's Ridge Fire and it will be directed to those people.

Please consider helping your local Red Cross Chapter. Sadly, a tough year just got a lot tougher.
