ROSSFORD (WTOL) - The Rossford Planning Commission approved a plan to build a new facility out on the Crossroads, that could bring thousands of jobs to the city.
The new facility is expected to employ 1,500 people.
Duke Realty, a real estate investment trust based out of Indianapolis announced construction of a four-story, 85 ft., 2.8 million square foot building just south of Deimling Road.
This sounds like enough space for the 1,800 parking spots they plan to put in, as well as 300 spots for tractor trailers.
Mayor Neil MacKinnon III says the announcement of what the building will be isn’t coming until late spring, but says whatever it is will be big deal not just for Rossford, but this part of Ohio, too.
“I’m just thrilled for the citizens here, the opportunities that are now going to come. I’m thrilled for the people that invested in the Crossroads early. They’re going to see their investment go up. Everybody wins. Not just in the great city of Rossford Ohio, but the entire region,” said Mayor MacKinnon.
Again, while we can’t confirm the company, there’s a lot of speculation that it could be Duke Realty’s biggest customer, Amazon.
