TOLEDO -- Despite a struggling economy, Toledo's Warehouse District is still in the middle of a resurgence.

News 11's Shelley Brown has more on some new developments in the area.

It was a tough couple of months for downtown Toledo businesses at the beginning of the year.

Several, like Bellacino's Pizza, Diva restaurant, and Ken's Flower shop closed their doors due to lack of business. But heading into the summer months, we found there is new activity.

The 900 block of Washington Avenue in Toledo... if you work downtown, you may drive by it everyday.

Developer Brad Stough says, "When I bought it, it was a complete mess. The whole back wall was dilapidated." But Stough saw it had potential and transformed this building into six new townhouses. All under $200,000, they offer anywhere between 1400 and 2,000 square feet, exposed brick walls, off-street parking and balconies.

Stough says, "About two years ago, I did the first two, and they went really well. So I went ahead. I had interest in the next four and sold them all right away."

This is actually downtown Toledo's first townhouses. Steve Reamey was one of the first buyers. He tells us, "As fast as they're closing, new ones are opening up." He's excited about living downtown and looking forward to new developments coming to the area.
