TOLEDO (WTOL) - Part of the Reagan Tokes Act has been passed out of committee in the Ohio House.
The bill is named after the murdered Ohio State student and Anthony Wayne graduate.
Tokes was killed by Brian Golsby. He was released from prison but wasn’t properly monitored, even though he was wearing a GPS monitor.
Several amendments have been added to the bill, calling on the state to create a feasibility study on changes to GPS monitoring and report back to lawmakers by next summer.
The bill originally addressed indefinite sentences and would have allowed a judge to sentence violent felons to a range of years rather than a set sentence.
