Starz contract with Netflix expires Tuesday, and they will not renew it.

(WTOL) - Starz contract with Netflix expires Tuesday, and they will not renew it. The Huffington Post reports Netflix is losing the ability to rent over a thousand movies including family favorites like "Toy Story3," "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and "Prince of Persia." It also includes classics like "Scarface."

Starz had said back in September that they did not plan on renewing the contract.

All online movie rental companies like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon must negotiate contracts with each movie house to carry their titles.

In the meantime, the New York Times reports that Netflix is transitioning into TV series. They say that's what half of their streaming audience is watching.
