TOLEDO (WTOL) - Mud Hens Opening Day is so popular in the 419 that the team announced they are having a whole new day full of activities for baseball fans. But this time, it will be over the summer.

On June 8, the Mud Hens are playing against the Indianapolis Indians at 5 p.m. But there will be a lot more going on besides the game.

For instance, they will have “The Future Mud Hen Adult & Child Baseball Camp,” which will give adults and children from age five to 14 the opportunity to learn new skills from Mud Hens coaches and players. Grown ups should have their own baseball mitt so they can join the children on the drills.

The experience costs $80 for one adult and one child and includes two game tickets to the doubleheader and souvenirs.

Another attraction for the summer Opening Day will be Tyler the Amazing Balancing Act, a high-energy act that has been featured in ballparks across the country.

Additionally, event-goers are more than welcome to have dinner before the game at Holy Toledo Tavern, Fleetwood’s Tap room and The Lexus Birdcage Club.

The Mud Hens will also have a special sleepover and other activities for boy scouts on June 8.
