GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A group of Michigan veterans is raising awareness for veteran suicide and the effects of PTSD by walking nearly 100 miles.

The third annual 92 for 22 started Thursday morning. Veterans started at the Veterans Memorial Park in Grand Rapids and will walk to the American Legion Post 568 in Stevensville, Mich. It will take them about three days.

Last year, the group walked from Marne to Ludington to raise money and awareness.

About 22 veterans took their lives every day from 1999 to 2010, according to a Veterans Affairs study. It’s that statistic that started No Veteran Left Behind - 92 for 22, back in 2017.
