Two people killed in south Toledo motorcycle crash

Police say the driver of the car that hit them fled the scene

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two people are dead after a motorcycle crash in south Toledo early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at Hill Avenue and Wenz Road around 1 a.m.

Police say a motorcycle collided with a Dodge Charger as the Charger was turning into an apartment complex.

Police say 28-year-old Dale Cameron and 31-year-old Kimberly Byram, both of Toledo, were thrown from the motorcycle.

Police say the motorcycle was last in a group of cyclists, and believe the driver of the Charger thought they could make the turn in time.

Witnesses tell police the motorcyclists were driving recklessly, and police say they were driving at a high rate of speed.

Police say Cameron died at the scene and Byram died at UTMC.

Police say they are now looking for the driver of the Charger, who fled the scene into the apartment complex they were trying to turn into after the crash.

Police say the driver left the Charger at the scene.

Police say the driver wasn't in trouble before, but they are now.

The crash closed Hill Avenue for a time, but the road is now open again.
