Two people were shot at corner of Lewis and Sylvania around 3 a.m. Sunday. One died on the scene and the other died at the hospital. The shooter is not in custody.

TOLEDO (WTOL) - It’s an intersection in West Toledo surrounded by popular restaurants like Mancy’s and Rudy’s Hot Dog.

Early Sunday morning, Lewis and Sylvania Avenues became a crime scene.

Toledo Police found two people found shot inside a car.

26-year-old Stevona Turner-Sandridge was dead.

29-year-old Richard Villolovos was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital where he died.

The shooter remains on the loose.

No arrests have been made in the case.

“It’s really hard to tell when anything is going to happen anywhere anymore,” said Tina Scott of the West Toledo Neighborhood Association.

Her group is worried about recent violence in this part of town which includes a shooting on Lyman Avenue and a stabbing on Asbury Street.

The double homicide may or may not have occurred here because the victims were found inside a car.

The Association will host a meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the West Toledo Branch Library on Sylvania Ave. to come up with solutions on how to take back their neighborhood.

“Unfortunately the violence has progressed over the years and we’re going to try to work with the city and Toledo Police Department and figure out how we can alleviate this violence,” said Ms. Scott.
