TOLEDO, Ohio — Kids swarmed Scott Park on Nebraska Avenue Wednesday morning for the first day of Safe-T-City Classes.

For the first time, soon-to-be kindergarten students are learning about a number of safety issues. One of them is how to properly cross the street.

Guest speakers help the children learn through songs, poems, art projects, stories, and movies.

"There are a whole lot of good stuff that are good for kids entering kindergarten to know some things that they have not been taught yet or touched on and it's a good age to introduce them to a whole lot of safety lessons," said TPD Lt. Jessica Meyer.

Your kids can also attend a summer camp sponsored by Toledo Police Athletic League or take part in the Brains & Bodies program.
