SWANTON, Ohio — The Toledo Air show is back and ready for takeoff at Toledo Express Airport, beginning Saturday.
Before 2016, there hadn't been an air show in the Toledo area in 12 years. Now, there will be one every three years.
"It's really hard to have an air show here every year in the community, so every three years I think is an outstanding opportunity for the local community to come out and enjoy aviation and everything that goes with it," air show executive director, Mike Timbrook said.
As part of the kick-off to the air show, former Toledo Walleye, Evan Rankin became an honorary Stinger and rode with the pilots.
Gates for the show open at 9 a.m. Saturday and the flights begin at noon. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the gate, with children 15 and younger admitted for free. Seniors 65 and older will pay $20 in advance or $30 at the gate.
