PERRYSBURG, Ohio — As the move-in date approaches, La-Z-Boy furnished the St. Jude Dream Home Wednesday bringing us one step closer to a winner, which will be announced in August.
More than $20,000 went in furnishings for the dining room, living room and four bedrooms; all matching the house's rustic, farmhouse decor.
"We have the shiplap up on the walls so we tried to tie in all the furniture to go along with that. We have our design team here with the two Renees that are going to put everything in place and give it the final touches but they have done a great job at selecting the product for it," sales and marketing manager for La-Z-Boy, Matt Simpson, said.
Simpson said it's a fun project to participate in year after year, designing a home from scratch. But it's also a point of pride that reaches far beyond some home furnishings.
"We absolutely adore this whole concept. When we had the opportunity to partner up with St. Jude and WTOL, it was a no-brainer and we are just thrilled to be associated with such a class act of people trying to make kids better," Simpson said.
This dream house is now just one step closer to being a dream home.
