Village Council selected James Kimble as the permanent chief of the Put-in-Bay Police Department. He was serving in an interim capacity since June 2020.

PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — James Kimble has been selected as the permanent police chief for the Put-in-Bay Police Department.

Village Council voted recently to remove his interim tag. Kimble was named interim chief last June.

"Ensuring the safety of our residents and tourists is of utmost importance to me and Village Council," Mayor Jessica Dress said. "I am confident that Chief Kimble will bring needed leadership to the Police Department as we gear up for what is sure to be a busy 2021 tourist season."
