SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — Two people are dead after a single vehicle crash in Sandusky County on Thursday.

The crash happened on SR 19 near mile post 15 in Rice Township around 9:08 p.m.

Police say 63-year-old Chris Johnoff was speeding southbound on SR 19 in a 2003 Acura with passenger 67-year-old Carolyn Partlow, both of Fremont, when he lost control and drove off the right side of the road.

Police say Johnoff hit a ditch and overturned several times, ejecting both him and Partlow.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Johnoff was not wearing a seat belt and Partlow was, but due to the extent of the damage to the vehicle, she was still ejected.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.
