Police identify body found in central Toledo

Officers have identified the body as 19-year-old Derlanis Holman who had been reported missing since Aug. 2.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Police Department has released the identity of the body found in a central Toledo field on Aug. 9.

Following an autopsy on Monday, Aug. 10 by the the Lucas County Deputy Coroner, the body was determined to be 19-year-old Derlanis Holman. Holman had been reported as a missing person since Aug. 2.

According to TPD, Holman was found deceased in vicinity of the 600 block of Pinewood Ave. around 7:19 p.m. on Aug. 9.

The coroner's report reads that the remains were "decomposed" and the autopsy revealed Holman had sustained "multiple gunshot wounds to the head." No projectiles were recovered.

His death was officially ruled a homicide.

This is an on-going investigation.
