Lourdes University's Hit the Links fundraiser returns for 2020, with a clever twist

The re-imagined event will be raising funds for students affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Lourdes University is re-imaging an annual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead of the annual Hit the Links Golf Outing, this year there will be a bucket ball drop.

There will be 500 golf balls available for purchase.

Prizes will be awarded to the participant whose numbered golf ball goes into the hole, or is closest to the hole, and the participant whose ball is furthest from the hole.

Each prize winner will receive a gift certificate for a round of golf for four at Sylvania Country club. You can enter more than once and must be 18 or older to apply.

Golf ball numbers will be assigned numerically as payment is received.

All golf balls must be purchased by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29.

The money raised will support the Lourdes University COVID-19 Action Fund. The fund is focused on providing support to students not eligible for government stimulus aid.

The bucket ball drop will be live streamed on Monday, June 1 at 12:00 p.m.
