TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting in west Toledo.
The shooting happened on the 4100 block of Mayfield Drive near Mallet.
Police say Kenneth Armstrong was taken to the hospital after suffering two bullet wounds to his left arm.
He told police he was walking down the street toward Mallett to smoke a cigarette when he was approached by three men who told him to empty his pockets.
Armstrong said when one of the men pulled out a handgun, he ran. While running, police say Armstrong heard three gunshots and felt a shot to his arm.
The three suspects then fled the scene while Armstrong made it to a home on Mayfield where he called 911.
He was then taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The three men are on the run.
