TOLEDO, Ohio — A group at Carmel's Mexican Restaurant in west Toledo is offering a $4,000 reward for information about the driver who hit and killed Johnny Gill, a regular patron, on Wednesday.
According to a Toledo police report, Gill, 72, was found unconscious by officers in the street at the Tremainsville Road and Fern Drive intersection after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.
Gill was taken to the hospital. He died on Wednesday, friends of Gill said.
According to police, the vehicle fled north on Tremainsville Road and has not yet been located. The incident is still under investigation.
