TOLEDO, Ohio — The Huntington Center hosted over 800 fans for an end of season celebration for the Toledo Walleye.

The 2019 ECHL Western Conference Champions held a thank you event Friday night to allow fans to hear from players and Toledo Walleye head coach Dan Watson.

"When you look back from start to finish, it was a special season, no question about it. Couldn't be more proud as a coach, couldn't be prouder of our organization and overall the city of Toledo for the support that we got," said Watson.

Defense man and Assistant Captain Matt Register said that Toledo's fans exceeded his expectations.

"This is the best fanbase in minor pro hockey for sure. I can't even express how much the fans mean to this community," said Register.

Fans were later invited to a meet-and-greet with the Walleye team for a final time to end the season.

Players and coaches signed autographs and posed for photos with fans.
