SYLVANIA, Ohio — A Sylvania church will celebrate a grand opening of its new facility during its services Sunday.
According to a press release, Five Lakes Church, located on 4255 Mitchaw Road, has opened a new facility to accommodate the church's consistent growth over the years. Its grand opening services will be held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Five Lakes Church reaches over 1,100 people weekly, according to church leadership, who said they hope to engage with even more people through its new facility.
"The people make the difference in the Toledo Metro area; it's pretty incredible," said Senior Pastor Micah Sutton during an interview on Good Day Tuesday "And that's one of the things I love about church, about being a part of a faith family, is that it is all about people - consistently about people. And if it's ever not about people, then we lose the whole point."
The church, which was founded in 1965, has expanded before, according to the press release. It expanded the building on its original McCord Road site in the past, but saw the need for a new facility in the 2010s.
Each of Sunday's nondenominational services will be identical and last approximately 70 minutes, leadership said. All are welcome to attend.
