Firefly Nights light up downtown Bowling Green

The next Firefly Night is July 19.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Firefly Nights are back in Bowling Green

It's a chance for the community to come together for food, fun and entertainment.

This is the second year for Firefly Nights, a chance to block off and light up Main Street in BG.

It's the idea of local business owners who hope to show off BG's diverse, neighborly and lively summertime atmosphere.

"Just come on out, enjoy the downtown. This is just a wonderful opportunity to enjoy everything," said Gayle Walterbach of Firefly Nights.

Everything like an area for kids to play and even yoga classes. Local restaurants and stores remain open while art and crafts vendors set up shop.

Erica Grossman's business is called Blanquility. She sells sensory weighted products to help you sleep such as blankets and eye masks.

"It just helps calm the nervous system. Relax your body. Helps your body slowdown, take a break, calm you right down" she said.

There will be four Firefly Nights this summer each held the third Friday of the month.

This flashy event has a bright future.

"I think it's marvelous. I love that everybody gets out and enjoys," said Susan Kramer.

"It's fantastic. Brings out a great crowd especially on a beautiful night like this. Hard to beat,"  added Charlie Bechstein.

The next Firefly Night is July 19.
