Emaciated puppy is improving, has gained 2 pounds since she was discovered; TAHS still seeking answers

If you have any information, you are asked to call their cruelty hotline at 419-891-9777.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Area Humane Society is seeking information regarding a potential animal abuse case.

On Monday, a female boxer puppy — now named Pineapple — was transferred to them from Lucas County Canine Care and Control after she was found by a good Samaritan curled up in a ball in an opened garage.

TAHS officials said that Pineapple was found with urine stains and sores on her skin, face and feet. She was reportedly so emaciated that she has not been able to stand on her own.

The garage in which Pineapple was located is located in south Toledo on Connemara Court off Holland Sylvania Road.

Humane society representatives said that Pineapple is around 6 months old and she weighed in at 11.2 pounds when she arrived. Her blood tests came back negative and TAHS reported that she has already gained two pounds since Monday.
