TOLEDO, Ohio — This pretty boxer puppy named Pineapple started off with a tragic story, but gets her happy ending in the form of a new family.

Last month, Lucas County Canine Care and Control transferred Pineapple to the Toledo Area Humane Society after she was found curled up in a ball in an opened garage.

TAHS says Pineapple was found with urine stains and sores on her face, skin and feet, and could not stand on her own because she was so emaciated.

But Pineapple is a fighter.

TAHS said Pineapple spent time in a foster home to heal from her wounds and gain weight.
