SWANTON, Ohio — One woman was killed Friday night in a two-car crash on Airport Highway in Swanton Township nearby the intersection with Turtle Creek Circle.
Patience Chaney, 40, of Lorain, Ohio, was pronounced dead on the scene following a head-on collision. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
She was driving westbound in the eastbound lane when she struck the other driver traveling eastbound, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, OSHP said.
Airport Highway is now open following a two-hour closure both ways.
The Swanton Police Department, Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Delta Fire Department, Swanton Fire Department, Lucas County EMS and Lucas County Coroner’s Office also assisted on the scene.
