HILLSDALE COUNTY, Mich. — One man is dead after drowning at South Sand Lake in Hillsdale, Michigan Saturday afternoon.
Hillsdale County deputies and rescue crews received calls of a person drowning around 1:35 p.m. When they arrived on scene, family members of 62-year-old Raymond Gibson said he voluntarily entered the water and moments later went under and out of sight.
The search immediately began for Gibson near the south shore of the lake.
After four hours, divers from the Hillsdale County Sheriff's office found Gibson's body in approximately 18 feet of water.
