Fairview Park firefighter tests positive for COVID-19, self-isolating at home

The firefighter is expected to make a full recovery.

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio — A Fairview Park firefighter has tested positive for coronavirus ( COVID-19). 

The department confirmed the firefighter's diagnosis in a press release Sunday morning. 

" It is unclear how the  firefighter became infected with the virus," the release stated. 

With the help of the Cuyahoga County Board of Heath, it was determined that that none of the departments employees or the public was exposed to coronavirus by the firefighter. 

The firefighter, whose identity is be not being release, is self-isolating at home and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Department says since the beginning of the outbreak they have followed the guidelines issued and recommended by the CDC, ODH and CCBH. 

Following the positive diagnosis, the department is implementing further practices to help protect their employees and the community.
