MANSFIELD, OH (WTOL) - The U.S. Marshals Service says Shawn Christy, a man wanted for making threats against President Donald Trump, was captured in Ohio on Friday.

According to the Mansfield News Journal, Christy, one of the FBI's Most Wanted fugitives, was believed to have crashed a vehicle on Interstate 71 in Richland County on Sunday.

Christy, 26, had been on the run for three months after he allegedly made threats against Trump and other officials.

He was apprehended in Mifflin Township, near Columbus, by Marshals, state and local officials.

A federal warrant was issued June 19 for the McAdoo, Pa., man in connection to Facebook posts threatening to shoot Trump and a district attorney in Pennsylvania. Officials say he also threatened a police chief.

Authorities say Christy stole a truck Sunday from near McAdoo and fled after abandoning it Sunday on Interstate 71 in the Mansfield area, about 65 miles north of Columbus.
