FINDLAY, OH (WTOL) - Crews fought a 3 alarm fire that broke out just before 4 p.m. Sunday in downtown Findlay at the former Heuerman's Batteries and Storage on Main Street, just north of the Blanchard River.
Thirty-five firefighters worked to fight the blaze, which started inside the building, but quickly spread and shot flames through the roof.
In fact, the flames burned some power lines that ran directly above the building causing 1,000 customers to lose power, but it has since been restored.
Findlay Fire Department Chief Brian Sanders says the hot weather made fighting the fire more difficult.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators are now trying to figure out how the fire in the building, which has been vacant for several years, started.Several folks submitted See It, Snap It, Send It photos of the blaze.
In fact, dozens of people stopped to watch the fire and smoke, which could be seen for miles.
