MIDGARD, (WTOL) - Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of the past 22 films of the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Last year’s Avengers Infinity War famously sent shockwaves throughout the world when the villain, Thanos, achieved his goal of collecting all of the Infinity Stones and “decimating” half of the entire universe including more than half of our heroes. Black Panther, Spider-Man, Star-Lord were just a few our favorites who lost their lives when Thanos snapped his fingers.

The only ones that remained were the original Avengers (which isn’t a coincidence). This time around it seems like Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are going on the offensive against the Mad Titan.

The world is empty and feels deserted. In an earlier trailer fans could see images of a deserted Citi Field and flyers for support groups for those who have lost loved ones during the decimation. Their friends and allies are dead and they want to get revenge and if possible fix time and reality to revive them. As Captain America said in the second Avengers movie, “You get hurt, hurt them back. You get killed…walk it off.” This is the thinking most fans are hoping will happen in Endgame as they wish for them to return. But until then, fans will have to wait and see if (lets be honest…when) Tony Stark escapes the dark black nothingness known as space and rejoins Cap and the others and see if there is a way to make the world right.

But there will be new characters to face Thanos in the Infinity War sequel including some older faces such as Hawkeye (now Ronin) and Ant-Man, along with the powerful newcomer Captain Marvel. Each bring an interesting element to the new battle.

Ronin has presumably lost his family when Thanos snapped. We see him in a trailer possibly killing people in Japan for reasons we do not know using a sword which as the true fans know that is not his weapon of choice. Before then, he was supposed to be retired, but this new mantle and possible revenge mission, is a another hero the team could use.

Ant-Man is one of the biggest mysteries in he upcoming Marvel blockbuster. The last time we saw him, he was retrieving quantum energy for his new friend Ghost as Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne and Janet Van Dyne waited outside he vortex as he gathered the energy. But unfortunately, they turned into dust too which resulted in Scott Lang being stuck in the quantum realm alone with no one else in the universe knowing his whereabouts.

Now, knowing that, the Endgame trailers show Scott Lang to be alive and well on planet Earth searching for answers and winding up at the Avengers front door. So the number one question is, how did he escape he quantum realm? And then, what does he know from that experience that can help our heroes fight Thanos?

The newcomer is Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel. The post credits scene in Infinity War got everyone excited because before Nick Fury was dusted, from Thanos he pressed a button on an old pager from the 90’s signaling help from Ms. Danvers. And this past February the fans got to see Carol Danvers in action and see her might and power.

And in Captain Marvel’s post credit scene ( and it cannot be stressed his enough: WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE CREDITS ROLL) fans saw her answer the pager and meet the remaining Avengers before the screen went black.

Kevin Feige has mentioned on multiple occasions that she will be the driving force after Avengers: Endgame as she is the most powerful hero we have seen in the past 11 years. Needless to say she is going to pack a punch and be a formidable foe for the Mad Titan.

There are many theories that fans have about how the Avengers will defeat Thanos which can be found all over the internet.

There is a leaked set photo of three characters that could signal this theory to be true. The photo shows three characters, an aged Tony Stark, Steve Rogers wearing the uniform he wore in the first Avengers movie aka the Battle of New York (a uniform we have not seen since that film in 2012), and Ant-Man who was not present during the Battle of New York. If you do the math it is presumed that some kind of time travel may be involved in this next film.

Now with less to do with the plot or the actual outcome of the movie is what is most likely the final appearance of Stan Lee. New reports are saying that Avengers Endgame will be the last cameo the Marvel Comics creator will make since he passed away earlier this year. This will be his final goodbye to his fans and vice versa.

Lee was famous for appearing in each and every one of the previous Marvel Cinematic movies as a little Easter Egg by playing a different unknown man in each film and even playing a version of himself in Captain Marvel.

On April 26 the theaters will be packed and packed often bearing witness to the biggest movie and story ending. Avengers Endgame is clocking in at just over three hours long making it the longest Marvel movie to date so movie lovers make sure you watch what you drink and use the restroom once (and maybe twice for safe measure) so you do not miss a single second the Infinity Saga.

Will the Avengers fix time and reality saving their fallen comrades? Will they defeat Thanos and the Infinity Stones? I guess we will see at the end of this month.
