POMEROY, Ohio — A former jail officer in Ohio accused of sexually assaulting or trying to sexually assault a dozen female inmates and probationers has been convicted of sexual battery and kidnapping charges.

The Ohio Attorney General's Office says former Meigs County corrections officer Larry Tucker could face decades in prison when he is sentenced. That date hasn't been scheduled.

The Pomeroy man worked as a corrections officer at the Middleport Jail and as a probation officer for the Meigs County Common Pleas Court in southeastern Ohio. The alleged crimes occurred between 2011 and 2017.

Tucker is in custody as he awaits sentencing. A message seeking comment on his Friday conviction was left for his public defender.
