TOLEDO (WTOL) - We’re a little over a week into the new year, but are you keeping up with your resolution?

If it’s to quit smoking, the Lucas County Health Department wants to help.

More than 80,000 adults in Lucas County smoke. The health department has an initiative to help people stop smoking.

The Eric Zgodzinski, the Lucas County Health Commissioner said there is a push for a healthier year for people who want to quit.

“It’s just not helping quit smoking, it’s to help them stay off the cigarettes. It’s to help them make sure that they don’t go back or relapse into smoking. If they do, we’re here to help that too. So, again, what we really want to do is just encourage people to understand that this program is out there and if you want to quit smoking, we’re here to help," said Zgodzinski.

The service is free. Anyone interested can find more information about the program here.
