Let the good times roll: Mardi Gras pop-up bar takes over Toledo Spirits

From live music, signature cocktails and a classic Creole dinner, this weekend, the 419 will feel like Bourbon Street.

TOLEDO, Ohio — You don't have to take a trip to New Orleans to find Bourbon Street vibes this weekend. A Mardi Gras-themed pop-up bar is moving into Toledo Spirits, highlighting all the best parts of one of the biggest parties in the world.

Thursday through Sunday, Toledo Spirits will be serving its own twist on some classic New Orleans cocktails. From Sazeracs, French 75s and Absinthe Frappes, to more touristy trends like Hurricanes and Hand Grenades, bar-goers can get a taste of Louisiana's festive spirit.

But, the party doesn't end there! On Fat Tuesday, The Cake Walkin' Jass Band will jamming with ragtime. And, folks can fill up with a prix fixe Creole dinner prepared by Mikhala Bagot from Island Soul. Dinner tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance

MUSIC

Here's a look at this weekend's lineup.

THURSDAY

Zydeco from Randy Katz and the Crescent City All-Stars will be hitting the stage at 8 p.m.

FRIDAY

Ben Cohen, otherwise known as DJ BennyGoodTimes, kicks off at 9 p.m., as he explores the sounds of New Orleans.

SUNDAY

Brad Billmaier Trio will be playing some New Orleans jazz at 6 p.m. sharp.

TUESDAY

Of course, you can enjoy some ragtime on Tuesday from Toledo's own The Cake Walkin' Jass Band. They begin at 6 p.m.

This isn't the first themed pop-up bar put on by Toledo Spirits. This past year, the bar hosted a Christmas-themed pop-up aptly called "Sleigh Bellwether." And from the looks of it, more exciting themed weekends could be coming our way.

But, let's not get ahead of ourselves — there's Mardi Gras to think of first!

No matter which day you attend, make sure to laissez bons temps rouler — or you know, let the good times roll.
