Go 419: The Top 11 Things to do in and around Toledo this weekend

This weekend, get out and explore the 419! Cedar Point is opening, there's a few car shows and even the release of a new beer. You are sure to have a great time.

TOLEDO, Ohio — You may have had a stressful week, but that's okay. The weekend is almost here and its time to relax, so take a look at how you can Go 419.  

THURSDAY

Cedar Point Opening Day  | Cedar Point | Opens at 11 a.m.   

The day many have been waiting for, Cedar Point is opening up this weekend! This year,  things will be a little different in light of COVID-19, some changes are being implemented for your safety. 

 Park hours are 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. until labor Day

Masks are required, even on rides 

They will have specific "mask-free zones" if you need a break

Reservations are required to visit the park

FRIDAY 

Fair Food Drive-Thru | Lenawee County Fairgrounds | Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. 

One of the best parts of summer is all the mouth-watering fair food and we wait all year for it. This year, many fairs are getting canceled, but you don't have to miss out on the best part. This weekend, you can go to Lenawee County Fairgrounds for drive-thru fair food event! 

At this event, you will stay in your car and the vendors of your choice will wait on you and they will have all your fair favorites such as elephant ears, funnel cakes, cheese curds, lemonade, corn dogs, and more! 

If you want to treat yourself this weekend, you should enter Hanke Lane from Siena Heights Drive.

SATURDAY

Yoga by the Lake | Olander Park | 9 a.m. 

Find your inner peace and end your week on a relaxing note with yoga by the lake. Saturday morning you can practice yoga and enjoy live acoustic music, all with a  beautiful view of Lake Olander in the backdrop.

2020 Appliance Center Cruiz-in Car Show | Appliance Center Maumee | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  

Its car show season and you can cruise into Appliance Center in Maumee and check out a whole bunch of great cars. This is Appliance Center's annual car show and you do not want to miss out, you can even register your own car too. 

They're going to have door prizes every half hour, different awards handed out, and have the opportunity to see one of only three LIMITED EDITION FORD GTs on display.

The Village Marketplace Shopping Event | Wood County Fairgrounds | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Looking to get out of the house Saturday? You can make a stop at the wood county fairgrounds and do some shopping. Check out a bunch of local vendors, enjoy lunch and have some fun!

Summer on the Farm | Sauder Village | 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

It's summer and kids want to have some fun, and what better way to do that than visit to Sauder Village to see some farm life. Take a step back in history and  visit historic homes, barns, gardens, and craft shops to experience different activities, see demos, and hear stories. 

You and your kids will be able to try your hand at marshmallow shooting, learn about summer farm chores, learn about tomato planting , historic cooking, watch goat milking, meet farm animals, and more!

Crafting Meetup | Gathering Volumes | 11 a.m. 

Love crafting and craving some social time? Saturday you can spend your afternoon at Gathering Volumes in Perrysburg and start crafting up a storm and make some new friends while you're at it. 

Starting at 11 a.m. you can bring your portable crafting supplies and get working! They will be hosting this every month, so you can mark this on your calendar.

Apricatawba Beer Release | Twin Oast Brewing | 12 - 11 p.m. 

A cold beer is perfect on a hot, summer day and Saturday, why not give a new one a try. Celebrate the release of the Apricatawba all day with Apricot Fest. Besides getting the first taste of Apricatawba Apricot Ale you can enjoy some great food from different food trucks, shop local vendors, and listen to some great music. There is also an Apritrot , a fun run for those who are up for it!

Fremont Speedway Crown Battery Sponsor Challenge Night  | Fremont Speedway | 4 p.m. 

Is your engine revving for some speed? Over in Fremont you can see some racing at Fremont Speedway. The gate opens at 4 p.m. and the races begin at 7 p.m. While you're there, you can also check out their hall of fame!

SUNDAY

7th Annual Autism Awareness Car Show | 5702 Monroe St Sylvania | 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Okay, if one car show wasn't enough for you, then you are in luck! There's another one going on Sunday and this one helping raise awareness for Autism, with all the money raised at this show going to the  Northeast Ohio Autism Society.  

 Its $10 to register your vehicle and they are accepting all years, makes, models and bikes. They will also have a 50/50, door prizes , drivers pool, top 5 trophys , and lots more fun. Local law enforcement will also be judging the show! 

Brunch with the Birds | Whitehouse Inn | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.  

This Sunday, brunch is for the birds! We know that its one of the best ways to kick off the week and this Sunday in Whitehouse you can enjoy a delicious brunch and support our feathered friends. 20% of your entire bill will be donated to Nature's Nursery.

Nature's Nursery will also be out there with some of your favorite animals including their owls and hawk. They will have some fun educational displays and family activities, so you can have a little animal interaction before or after your brunch.
