The first full moon of 2019 is a Super Moon with a lunar eclipse! Most schools are closed the next day for Martin Luther King Jr. Day so the kids have a rare opportunity to stay up late and see one of nature’s wonders. Celebrate with a mix of kid-friendly indoor and outdoor activities. Program is canceled in the case of overcast skies.Dave’s 10-Miler & 5k | 2-5 p.m. | Pike-Delta-York Middle School
Started in 1974 by Dave himself, the Dave’s 10-Miler has been run every year since, regardless of the unpredictable weather. We have seen high temperatures of 65 degrees F, to blizzard conditions and ice on the road. Be sure to dress for the weather. The course starts at Pike-Delta-York Middle School and loops through the beautiful country side of Delta. A 1:30 p.m. early 10-Miler start is also offered. If you wish to utilize this start and be timed, you must select it during registration. Join inside the Pike-Delta-York Middle School after the race and enjoy hot Pita Pit soup and sandwiches, and shower facilities.Monday, January 21, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day2019 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic & Skills Competition | Huntington Center | 7 p.m.
For the first time in Toledo hockey history, the All-Star Weekend will be hosted in the Glass City! The 2019 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic will feature a 3-on-3 tournament with four teams competing for the top spot. Walleye players will make up two of the four teams and face-off against the other two teams featuring players from the Eastern and Western Conference All-Star teams. Representatives from each team will participate in three skills competitions (Fastest Skater, Accuracy Shot, Hardest Shot) during the All-Star Classic intermission breaks.
