OREGON, Ohio — Go 419 has the scoop on a Polish picnic you won't want to miss.
The Toledo Area Polka Society is hosting the 5th Annual Polish Summer Picnic to celebrate Polish heritage and culture.
Genoa Bank is sponsoring the picnic on June 14 and 15 at Oak Shade Grove Pavilion in Oregon, Ohio.
The picnic features three nationally recognized polka bands: Music Company, Freeze Dried and DynaBrass.
There will also be performances from the Polish American Concert Band and The Echoes of Poland Folk Song and Dance Ensemble.
While listening to the music, people are encouraged to try authentic Polish dishes from Stanley's Market, Ed Beczynski's Focaccia's, Zavotski Custom Meats and the Echoes of Poland. There will be a bar with Polish beers and other drinks.
People can walk away with special souvenirs, apparel and Polish pottery, as well as enjoying the children's area with games and prizes.
Admission prices are:
- $8 for adults 16 - 64
- $6 for ages 65 and above
- Free for people under 16
The picnic will take place Friday from 5 - 11 p.m., with the featured performance from Music Company, and Saturday from 2 - 11 p.m., with the featured performances from Freeze Dried and DynaBrass.
People can purchase their food and beverage tickets on the grounds up until one hour before closing on both days.
