TOLEDO, Ohio — Cindy LaCrosse stopped by the Lucas County Canine Care and Control Wednesday afternoon to play with the dogs, bring donations, and more importantly, raise awareness to Toledo's furry little ones.
LaCrosse started playing in the LPGA tournament in 2010 but it was only last year that she begun visiting shelters while touring.
"I was hanging out with my nephew one day and we just thought of taking some supplies to the Tampa Humane Society and I just kind of had this idea of being able to give back to each tournament town that we go," she said.

This time, LaCrosse came with her caddie, her mom and three other LPGA friends.
"It's an amazing partnership. These ladies are travelling all across the country and they are winding up in northwest Ohio. And to take time out of their busy schedules and to come visit our shelter means so much," LC4 Community Outreach Coordinator, Laura Simmons-Wark, said.
Allie White, Ruixin Liu and Dory Carter are all playing at the tournament his week and took time to support the animals.
The attention only helps the shelter since after the Fourth of July, LC4 has received even more dogs and any extra help is welcomed.
"The shelter is full, there's always a huge need for homes, supplies, blankets, dog treats, canned dog food. A little bit of everything," Simmons-Wark said.
Additionally, LC4 is taking one of their dogs to the golf course Friday to cheer for their new friends.
