TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - WTOL 11 has learned Chrysler will ask Toledo Public Schools for a tax abatement Thursday.
It's for an expansion at the Toledo North Assembly Plant that would bring back more than a thousand jobs to the Glass City.
A new vehicle slated for Toledo North will bring back a second shift at the plant.
The TPS Finance Committee has a regular meeting Thursday and is expected to hear the request to abate taxes on the $350 million investment.
That committee will send the request to the full board for action next week.
The Washington Local School Board will also have to act on an abatement request.
The state recently gave Chrysler a new air quality permit that allows for a large expansion at Toledo North.
