Cedar Point to unveil 'Forbidden Frontier' Memorial Day weekend

The new attraction offers interactive games, puzzles and a playground.

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point is ready to open Forbidden Frontier, their new interactive attraction this Saturday.

A new addition to Cedar Points Frontier Trail, is the Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island.

It's included with park admission, but you will need a map.

The map is necessary because inside, dozens of characters will guide you on an interactive experience of the celebration of Truce Day between two groups fighting over a hidden treasure.

"We've got two clans that have been fighting over it for the last five years. I'm a proud member of the Cayuga Tribe, the other tribe are the Wapi," said the local State Marshall character.

Along with games, puzzles and other activities, kids will have a chance to play on an enormous rope playground.

For the adults, a provisions shack and comfy seating.

Each character you interact with will give you hints at where you can find the next clue to help solve the mystery hidden in the map of the island.

The story of the island will constantly be changing throughout the season, which means there will be something new for returning visitors.

The family friendly attraction is another addition for the park to reach out to people who may not be the biggest roller coaster enthusiasts.

"It's immersive. It's not a ride, but it's a great experience for any level of the family. Whether you want to sit there, or if you want to interact with everyone that's there," said Tony Clark, Director of Communication at Cedar Point.

Forbidden Frontier officially opens on Saturday, May 25.
