NAPOLEON, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Campbell Soup company is celebrating the completion of a solar power system at the Napoleon, OH facility.

The company says more than 200 jobs were created to build the system, which now generates 15 percent of the facility's electricity.

"Campbell's soup is reducing their carbon footprint by 50% in 2020 which is almost double most of the state mandates.  It's a very impressive goal and they're meeting it," saidMatthew Baird of BNB Renewable Energy Holdings.

The power system generates 9.8 megawatts of solar power with its 24,000 solar panels. Recharge News reports the company worked on the project with BNB Renewable Energy Holdings and Enfinity America. Campbell plans to work on a broader scope of projects with those companies in the future.
