(WTOL) - A GoFundme campaign with the goal of subsidizing the construction of what it called the “Trump Wall” has failed to reach its $1 billion goal.

CBS News reports that the campaign will refund all money to donors according to the director of North America Communications for GoFundMe.

Donors have the option to contribute to the campaign creator’s new venture however.

The campaign was able to raise over $20 million to go toward building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Donors will be getting their refund in April.

Brian Kolfage, who started the campaign, said the reason for refunding the donations was that the federal government “won’t be able to accept our donations anytime soon.”

We are building the wall! We have the dream team of our nations most powerful builders and national security experts....

Kolfage is giving donors the option of diverting their contribution to himself and a 501(c)(4) corporation he created called “We Build the Wall, Inc.” to privately construct the border wall.
