NORTHWOOD, Ohio — The Northwood Police Department is looking to hire police officers and dispatchers to fill positions within the department immediately.
Northwood PD says its small department of just 27 employees is short-staffed and is asking people to apply for full-time and part-time jobs, especially dispatchers who play a critical role within the department.
“We’re short-staffed and I mean, our dispatchers are tired. We have four dispatchers covering what we should have 5 dispatchers covering and we would like two part-timers to help cover holidays and vacations because everybody needs a day off," said Detective Sgt. Tina Barrett.
