Report: Fiat Chrysler, French automaker discussing merger possibilities

A spokesman for Fiat Chrysler has yet to return calls regarding the report, which is said to involve PSA Group of France.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A report Tuesday said Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group of France - the parent company of Peugeot - are in merger talks. The Wall Street Journal says a deal between the two could make a "$50 billion trans-Atlantic auto giant."

FCA has not yet returned calls regarding the merger report. The talks are said to be "fluid" and it is noted that there is no guarantee that any final agreement will be reached.
