HOUSTON — Halloween has come and gone, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. The National Retail Federation just released its holiday shopping trends for 2019, and 39 percent of shoppers started their holiday shopping before November.

So forget waiting around for Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals. RetailMeNot is launching a new tradition: Cash Back Day.

The new retail holiday was created by the money-saving website. It gives shoppers 24 hours to access deals from more than 250 retailers, including Amazon, Bloomingdales, Sephora, Ulta, Kendra Scott and Macy's.

The NRF forecasts holiday spending will trend up this year, with the average consumer spending $1,048 during the holidays.

So when every dollar counts, RetailMeNot is hoping to attract shoppers with the idea that you can make money while you shop for the holidays.

Cash Back Day launches at midnight Nov. 7 and lasts for 24 hours.

Here's the catch: You have to register with RetailMeNot.com and shop through its website where you will connect with participating stores.

"Within 45 days, you are going to get the cash back in your RetailMeNot wallet," explained Sara Skirboll, "which you will then cash out to your Venmo or PayPal account."

That's up to 20 percent cash back in your wallet ahead of Dec. 25.

RetailMeNot plans to roll out Cash Back Day every year on the first Thursday in November, beating out Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday.
