TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo-area native, Trent Croci was excited to join the WTOL team as a full-time multi-skilled journalist in the summer of 2022. Born and raised in Sylvania, Trent is eager to begin his career in an area he’s familiar with even though he’s still learning something new about it every day.

Trent graduated from Sylvania Northview High School in 2016 and was a part of its nationally recognized student newspaper, The Student Printswhere he got to share stories about his fellow classmates.

More recently, he graduated from the University of Toledo in spring of 2022. While there, he reported, produced and was the main anchor for its campus newscast, UT:10 News. He was honored with the Award of Excellence by the national Broadcast Education Association.

During his last semester of college Trent worked as an assistant host/producer intern at FOX36 where he helped promote local restaurants, businesses, people and contests through its Toledo Now segments with its main host, Emily Brown. This made him appreciate the city of Toledo even more and he was able to be introduced to the team of WTOL working under the same roof.

In his free time, Trent enjoys walking at the local parks, listening to all kinds of music, reality TV and enjoying the local restaurant scene with friends. Trent’s excited to immerse himself in the Glass City even more now, getting to share the stories of its people and community, especially within the LGBTQIA+ groups.

Trent’s always looking to expand his network and for story ideas to share. Reach out to him on social media as well as tcroci@wtol.com.
