Madelyne Watkins

Ohio native joins the WTOL 11 team as a multi-skilled reporter, covering a variety of news around northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Born and raised in Ohio, Madelyne Watkins is excited to be telling stories in the Buckeye State! She joined WTOL 11 in October 2021 as a multi-skilled journalist. 

Madelyne graduated college from the University of Akron in 2018, where she won two student Emmys for hosting the campus news broadcast, 'Lights, Camera, Akron.' During her time in Akron, she interned at WKYC Channel 3 News in Cleveland. After graduating, Madelyne spent her first year in the industry anchoring the evening news at WHIZ in Zanesville, Ohio. 

Madelyne joined the WTOL 11 team after reporting at KIMT News 3 in Rochester, Minnesota, for two years. She's covered a wide range of topics - from the COVID pandemic and protests to mental health and local stories people are talking about. 

When she's not behind or in front of the camera, Madelyne enjoys exploring new places with her dog, Nora, working out or checking out restaurants with the best tacos!
