TOLEDO (WTOL) - A new airline is coming to Toledo Express Airport. Beginning in June, Air Azul will begin offering non-stop service to Newark, New Jersey. From there, passengers can catch a train into Manhattan.
There will be three weekly flights with fares starting at $59. The airline hopes to appeal to the business traveler but also folks going on vacation. "Our current demand is about 100,000 passengers a year between Toledo and New York City. We leak 95% of that to Detroit because of the non-stop service that Detroit has," said Trevor Sadler with Air Azul.
